These are the OLD style cloisonne  which are like most older things better! They are good heavy duty beads with thick enamel decorations. The decoration is formed by first adding compartments (cloisons in French, hence the name. ) to the metal object by soldering or adhering silver or gold wires or thin strips placed on their edges. These remain visible in the finished piece, separating the different compartments of the enamel or inlays, which are often of several colors. Cloisonné enamel objects are worked on with enamel powder made into a paste, which then needs to be fired in a kiln. Each bead was hand done and each is a little unique. If you go on you tube and see how they do it you will see that it is time consuming. New cloisonne is not the same. The solder some wire and paint in the decoration. This is Mint new old stock just out of decades of storage,,, never used! The high bidder will get a lot of 30 beads of gorgeous design. Beads measure 16 mm x 8 mm thick and hole size is 2 mm.
